Originally a large stone barn, we indulged our love of natural materials and textures when we created Whitwell’s Lodge. We’ve decorated it internally with old stone, oak and metal and decorative antiques, and chose high quality fittings, linens and equipment throughout.

The sitting room and formal dining area has a warm oak floor, stone features and fireplace, a comfortable Knoll sofa, French chateau armchairs and a dining table seating six to eight people.

Whitwell’s Lodge is made for cooking and entertaining and its family-size kitchen is at its heart. It is a stunning room with a vaulted ceiling and beautiful patinated metal chandelier. Its large pine table and chairs seat eight and it has a double Falcon oven, and pine dresser. It is extremely well equipped, with both a traditional Mason dinner service and Emma Bridgewater china, and you can select beautiful glassware and linens for family and formal occasions from the Butler’s pantry.

People love to eat outside at Whitwell’s Lodge: two pairs of patio doors open onto its patio and walled garden where you can relax around a table for eight.

Whitwell’s Lodge has two double ensuite bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has a super king-size bed, and its luxurious ensuite bathroom has a roll top cast iron bath to unwind in. The double bedroom has a ensuite shower room.
