Our Favourite Spring House

Spring is one of our favourite seasons. Our gardens become more colourful, the light pours into our houses and as guests you get to enjoy outdoor dining in our gardens. One of our favourite houses for spring is Fenton. With its outdoor walled garden and stable door it is one of the best indoor-outdoor houses.

The inside of the house brings the garden alive through the pale green hand painted tiling above the Aga and the cupboards stocked with a medley of Emma Bridgewater crockery featuring kitchen garden fruit, herbs and flowers - from snowdrop and mint mugs, to sage and pear plates to tulip bowls.

The private walled garden gets sun from breakfast to early evening and is very perfect for a relaxing long weekend. To enhance the David Austin Iceberg climbing rose, wisteria and the two climbing clematis, we have been busy planting more bulbs and white & pink mossy saxifrage as you enter the garden. Our little herb garden, with its mint, sage and chives plants, will help you to finish off any salad or evening Pimms.
