Inspiring your household products: the Garnier-Thiebaut tea towels edition
Combining our love of craftsmanship with inspired design we think carefully about every feature that is present in our Oundle Bespoke homes, from the bed frames to the tea towels. Giving you inspiration for those little details in your own home.
Tailored to each house, our favourite of these little design features is our Garnier-Thiebaut tea towels made in Gerardmer, France. Established in 1833, this textile manufacturer has pioneered many of the inventions in textile industry’s design and technology for the production of fine high quality linens. Their production facilities manage the entire manufacturing process from dyeing the thread to the distribution of the finished product. In our minds, these are the most luxurious, stylishly designer linens in the world.
Made of pure cotton with the special jacquard weaving technique, and high-quality workmanship, they emphasise the natural qualities of this noble cotton. And, through this manufacturing process they create beautiful designs, absorbent and durable tea towels. Ready for us to use in our houses.
With each houses’ individual interior design using different colours in paint, furniture, accessories and fabric we use our Garnier-Thiebaut tea towels to further reflect the unique design of the houses. The variety of designs and colours available allow us to do this.
Devonshire House has G-T tea towels design in pale blue entitled ‘Tea Time’ reminding us of Devonshire Cream Teas!
The Stables are decorated with the love of sea and sand have G-T towels in a contemporary ‘fishes in the sea’.
Our favourite tea towel is ‘asparagus’ which enhances the ‘kitchen garden’ Emma Bridgewater crockery in the Chalon designed kitchen with its ‘peach’ tiles above the Aga, all themed upon the walled garden that leads from the sitting room.
